Tenerife boasts year round sunshine and is a firm favorite as one of the best places to attend Spanish courses in Spain while catching some much needed sun, both in winter and summer.

Tenerife provides several different resorts from hip and happening nightspots to more sedate sunny Spanish picture postcard villages. Playa de las Americas is the playground of the island - where its black sandy beaches, from the volcanic origins of the Island, border the ‘Veronicas' Strip' with many great affordable bars and nightclubs.

Tenerife is a shopper's paradise as it is partly tax free; cosmetics, liquor, cigarettes and perfumes are usually cheaper here. Many shops sell souvenirs and branded items, easily found at both Puero de la Cruz and Santa Cruz.

There are many walking and hiking routes to suit a variety of ages at the parks around Tenerife. Golfing enthusiasts will love the 27-hole Costa Adeje golf course (close to our school), just five kilometers from Playa de las Americas. Water sport activities like paragliding and jet-skiing are found at almost all of its beaches.  Tenerife, known for its spectacular views of mountains and steep gorges, is one of the largest Spanish islands that form the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean.

We feel that it's not enough just to learn Spanish in Spain - you've got to live it! At our Spanish school in Tenerife, we're convinced that this is one of the most important things our students can do… to live Spanish. For us, learning the Spanish language doesn't end in the classroom, instead each and every one of the activities that we schedule for our students play an active part in presenting the different facets of Spanish language and culture.

From the guided visits to important monuments, to our popular cafe visits where we sample the delicious local tapas, to the regional dinners typical of the town, to our weekend excursions all of our activities are designed so that our students experience and appreciate the difference between just learning Spanish and learning to live the language.

Tenerife students will experience the international atmosphere created by students who come from over fifty different countries to learn Spanish in Tenerife, Spain. The age of our students ranges from sixteen to sixty-five with an average age being twenty-two in the summer months and twenty-five in the winter. One of our major sources of satisfaction is the large number of students who return year after year to repeat the unique experience of learning Spanish in a highly effective manner and, at the same time, discovering the richness and diversity of the Spanish culture.

Our Spanish Language School in Tenerife, Spain is in a quiet residential zone two blocks from the beach in an air conditioned building which is designed and equipped for teaching. It features spacious modern classrooms, a reference library, computer room with Internet access, an assembly hall and a common room, for study and meetings.

Individual Spanish Course (1 to 1) Hours per week: flexible

In our experience, choosing the Spanish course that best suits your goals is essential to the enjoyment and usefulness of your stay. Therefore we offer you the following advice, taking into consideration your level of Spanish, the duration of your stay in Spain and your objectives:

If your level of Spanish is beginner or elementary, we recommend one of the following general Spanish language courses : Standard or Intensive Group with a maximum of ten students per class; or Standard Reduced Group or Intensive Reduced Group in reduced groups (maximum five students). The basic difference between these Spanish courses in normal groups and in reduced group courses is that the smaller number of students in the latter makes the learning that much more intensive and therefore faster.

Our programs include:

• All classroom books and folder.
• A computer lab with free Internet access.
• A specialized learning resource center and library where students can do research or have a quiet place to study. They can also borrow books to read at home.
• Students can receive telephone calls and faxes without cost
• Activities organized by the school free of charge.
• Diploma and Attendance Certificate.
• Information provided about cultural activities taking place in each host city.

The Spanish courses can be taken for periods of time different than those indicated in this list. Please do not hesitate to contact us to determine the price for any length of stay not indicated here. Note that the course discount for longer periods applies only to stays reserved and paid before the start of the course.

Spanish Courses Tenerife - Accommodation

Traveling to Spain to learn Spanish is an adventure. We're aware that our students want to feel at home while studying with us. To achieve this sense of comfort we pay special attention to the very important part of their stay, their accommodation.

We have a department at our Tenerife Spanish school specifically devoted to the selection and control of the accommodations options that we offer. Our Housing department is exclusively dedicated to satisfying their requirements and preferences.

Accommodation is always close to the school and a maximum 30 minute walk from the center.

The room will be available from 14:00 hours (2:00 pm) on the Sunday before the course starts until 10:00 am on the Saturday following the completion of the course. If students need extra nights we can arrange a hotel at a reasonable rate for you.

For Spanish Courses longer than two weeks the students can combine different types of accommodation.

We take into account your special requirements such as meal-type preferences/vegetarianism, or other health-related issues such as allergies etc.

Prices quoted include all costs such as electricity, water, value-added and other local taxes.

Student Flats

Flats are typical family dwellings each with several bedrooms, living room, kitchen (fully equipped with all cooking utensils, washing machine and refrigerator) and shared bathrooms. The flats are shared by students of all nationalities. You can choose either a double or individual room. We will provide you with sheets and blankets upon their arrival at the school.

We charge a small deposit which will be refunded at the end of their stay when they return the bedding. The price or the flat accommodation includes electricity, gas, water, and a weekly cleaning of the communal areas (kitchen, living room, bathroom and hallways).

This is a highly economical accommodation choice so you shouldn't expect luxury! Flats are furnished in basic manner and the ‘community rules' include an agreement that the students will also be responsible for certain things: (a) Contributing towards the cleaning of the flat, (b) Cooking their own food and (c) Always remembering to respect their flat mates and neighbors.

This type of accommodation is only available to students over eighteen years of age.

Apartments

These are very comfortable studio-apartments for either one or two people who wish to enjoy total independence and comfort. They are situated in the centre of town, close to the school. They consist of one or two bedrooms, private bathroom, kitchen, television, laundry service, public telephones in the corridors and weekly cleaning service. Apartments of 1 or 2 bedrooms are available and it is possible for up to 4 persons to stay in an apartment.
