Learn Spanish in Cancun, Mexico

Cancún is located at the south-eastern tip of the Yucatan peninsula, in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Cancún has an excellent climate with plenty of sunshine and temperatures around 29 degrees Celsius (85 F.), and ocean temperatures about 25-28 degrees (78-83 F). Perfect year-round! When attending our Spanish courses in Cancun, Mexico, there are a number of nearby islands to visit and explore:

Isla Mujeres is a small island about 12 miles from the coast of the Yucatan peninsula. It is a nice place for snorkeling only 20 minutes by boat from Puerto Juárez in Cancún.

Cozumel is a beautiful island with spectacular coral reefs and great nature. A one-hour drive from Cancun takes you to Playa del Carmen where you can take the ferry that leaves every hour for a 45 minute boat ride to Cozumel.

There are also some important Mayan sites in the area:

Tulúm is the only Mayan site located on the coast, a little over one hour south of Cancun by car or bus.

Cobá is in the middle of the jungle, 30 minutes beyond Tulúm. 

Chichén Itza, one of the most important Mayan sites, is blessed with spectacular pyramids, and is a two-hour drive from Cancún on the road to Mérida. Chichén Itza became the capital of the Yucatán Maya after the end of the Classic period. They organized a trading empire that stretched from the Gulf Coast to Honduras.

Palenque stands at the foothills of the Chiapas highlands. It was built as a portal to the underworld in the 8th century, where Maya kings might defeat the Lord Death and return in dreams and visions. In the observatory tower at the center of Palenque palace, small portals were aligned to enable the sighting of Venus throughout the year at its first appearance on the horizon. This was the signal to begin war.

Yaxchilán,  Bonampak,  Tikal, Uaxactun and  Copan were lowland or valley cities, abandoned for unknown reasons with the fall of classic Mayan civilization, around 1,000 A.D. and became overgrown with rain forest jungle. Lavish murals were found at Bonampak.

Or Spanish language school in Cancun, Mexico was founded in 1993. Its goal is to offer the best service, and to ensure total academic satisfaction. The congenial atmosphere of the Spanish language school makes the contact between teachers and students easier and friendlier. Our Spanish school offers a personalized learning experience, with university trained professors.

The Building:

The school is a 2 floor building surrounded by many tropical plants, with 12 classrooms and a patio where students meet between classes.

The Location:

The  Spanish language school is located in the older part of Cancun. Everything is within walking distance, such as buses, restaurants, supermarket, banks, etc.

Activities:

Mexican cuisine classes

Classes are held once a week. Learn how to prepare typical Mexican dishes like Enchiladas, Guacamole, Chilaquiles, Mole Poblano, etc.

Salsa Dance:

Learn to dance Salsa! Classes are held daily with a professional dancer at the local Salsa dance club. After classes you are invited to stay and practice with the live Salsa group.

Excursions:

The school arranges weekend and one-day trips to archeological sites such as Tulum and Chichen-Itzá.There are also trips arranged to the national parks of Xcaret and Xel - Ha.

Our Spanish Courses in Cancun, Mexico

You will become total immersed in the culture, society and customs of Mexico. The system of small groups, maximum 6 students per class, and the special class dynamic will help you to learn to speak and understand Spanish in a short time.

Our teaching method is based on 7 levels of the ACTFL model ( American Association of Teachers of Foreign Language ) that ranges from complete beginners to advanced levels. Classes will include lectures and interactive exercises including grammar, oral and written activities, presented by two different teachers each day, one for the first three hours, the other for the second two. An emphasis on grammar and vocabulary is continuous throughout every course level.

The Spanish intensive program at our Spanish school in Cancun, Mexico consists of seven levels, from Beginners 1 to Superior.

Learn Spanish in Cancun, Mexico - Accommodation

Mexican family:

The best way to practice your Spanish! Most of the families live in comfortable houses in the residential area of Cancún not more than 10 minutes walking distance from the school. Your family will also provide you with friendly conversation on a variety of topics, including Mexican culture and customs, and will help you get oriented during your stay in Cancún.

School residence on campus:

The school residence located right on the school campus, and is a separate building from the school, built in a typical Mexican style. You will have your own room and share the kitchen and living room with other student. The school residence is in a very quiet area with private garden.

Student house near the school:

Only 10 minutes walking in the heart of downtown Cancun is our student house. It provides 5 single and 2 double rooms each own with its own bathroom. On the roof top is the kitchen and a big terrace where students meet for lunch or dinner.

Downtown: Private Apartments

The Hotel is an oasis of tranquility in downtown Cancun only 5 minutes walking distance from school. All rooms open onto the courtyard with many tropical plants which contains a swimming pool and jacuzzi. The owners are in residence to assure that you feel completely at home and to give you a taste of traditional Mexican hospitality.

Accommodation: The Hotel has 25 double rooms. All rooms have two full-size beds, air conditioning and ceiling fan, television, hot and cold water and a fully equipped kitchenette.

Convenience: The downtown location puts you within easy walking distance of all the services of Cancun. Taxis are available around the clock and the bus station is 2 blocks away.

Beach Apartments:

Only 25 minutes by bus from school. You will have access to the swimming pool, tennis court. Apartments are equipped with air conditioning, TV, Phone, kitchen. Cleaning service every day.
