Samara is one of the largest cities in Russia, the capital of Samara Region, with the population of over 1,164,000 people. It is situated in the European part of Russia on the Volga River. Samara is one of the major economic, industrial and cultural cities of Russia.

Samara was officially founded in 1586 when on the bank of the Volga River the construction of the fortress that was to protect the Russian State from the incursion of martial nomadic tribes was started. But in fact, the settlement on the bent of the Volga River had been mentioned in the ancient chronicles since 14th century. During World War II Samara (the city situated not far from Moscow ), then named Kuibyshev, was the second capital of USSR. The city's growth was stimulated during World War II by its distance from the war zone and the evacuation there of numerous government functions when Moscow was threatened by German attack; helped the postwar development of the Volga-Urals oilfield. The city reverted to its old name in 1991.

Many famous people worked and lived in Samara. Outstanding Russian writers Lev Tolstoy and Maxim Gorky, painters Ilya Repin, Vasily Surikov and Ivan Aivazovsky, revolutionists Michael Frunze and Vladimir Lenin are among them. Even a French writer Alexander Duma had paid a visit to Samara in 1858. Impressed by the travel he wrote the book "From Paris to Astrakhan ” where he gave his description of Samara.

Our Russian school in Samara provides Russian immersion program instruction, diverse cultural programs, excursions and study tours.

Our school's goals are to provide quality Russian language instruction and cultural studies; and to offer Russian language and cultural tours for people from all around the World.

Our language school was opened in Samara in April, 1999. We are a small school with a friendly atmosphere among the staff and a careful, individual attitude towards the students.

Since 2001 we started our Russian language tuition programs with highly qualified Russian instructors. Many students from all around the world have chosen us to learn Russian and to enjoy a safe city and a friendly atmosphere among the staff and the students.

Our Russian Immersion Programs in Samara, Russia

Group (20 hrs)

Group 20 Russian immersion programs are intended to satisfy most of the students. Whether you need to learn Russian for studying or academic purposes, for business activities or personal interest you would find this course ideal for you. You still have a lot of free time for any after-class activities you like.

• Possible course duration: 1-24 weeks;
• Course starting dates:
• Beginner, Elementary - first Monday of each month;
• Intermediate, Advanced - every Monday (except for official holidays).
• The starting dates may vary so please ask for confirmation for the desired date.
• Sample schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00-10:30 (2h in-class), 10:40-12:10 (2h in-class).

Group (30 hrs)

Group 30 Russian immersion programs are recommended for students who want to reach a good level of the language faster. The courses include 5 hours of fieldtrips and outdoor linguistic and communication activities. It is similar to the standard course but for more studying hours, you'll have a quicker result.

• Including outdoor language activities (fieldtrips) hours per week: 5
• Possible course duration: 1-24 weeks
• Course starting dates:
• Beginner, Elementary - first Monday of each month
• Intermediate, Advanced - every Monday (except for official holidays).
• The starting dates may vary so please ask for a confirmation for a desired date.
• Sample schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00-10:30 (2h in-class), 10:40-12:55 (3h in-class), Saturday 10:00-14:30 (5h fieldtrip).

Individual Course

Individual Russian immersion programs provides maximum personal attention and could be recommended for students with fast or slow learning abilities and for students who want individual tuition. Our teachers have great experience with one-to-one lessons.

• Total studying hours per week: 10-40
• Including outdoor language activities (fieldtrips) hours per week: 5-15
• Possible course duration: 1-12 weeks
• Course starting dates: upon the student's request
• Schedule: due to be discussed with your teacher.

Combined (30+10 hrs)

The combined Russian immersion program provides deep immersion into the Russian language and culture. This Russian program consists of 30 hours in-class lessons and 10 hours of outdoor learning activities, fieldtrips which bring you to the fascinating world of communication in Russian. Together with the language instruction you will have carefully selected cultural activities and diverse communication activities with Russians. This is the fastest way to learn the language.

• Total studying hours per week: 40
• Including outdoor language activities (fieldtrips) hours per week: 10
• Possible course duration: 1-12 weeks
• Course starting dates:
• Beginner, Elementary - first Monday of each month
• Intermediate, Advanced - every Monday (except for official holidays).
• The starting dates may vary so please ask for a confirmation for a desired date.
• Sample schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00-10:30 (2h in-class), 10:40-12:10 (2h in-class), 14:00-15:30 (2h fieldtrip), 16:00-17:30 (2h in-class).

Volga Cruise Courses
