One of the most enjoyable cities of Europe, Lisbon is a place of cultural diversity, a place where old and new come together to create the spirit of the city. Lisbon's historic center sets on seven hills (Castelo, Graça, Monte, Penha de França, S. Pedro de Alcântara, Santa Catarina and Estrela), this making some of the city's streets too steep for motor vehicles. Around the historical center of Lisbon, there are several administratively defined cities like Loures, Amadora or Oeiras that represent a part of the metropolitan perimeter of Lisbon.

A big attraction of Lisbon is represented by the historical districts, a mandatory destination for those who want to see the Portuguese capital. Those are a part of Lisbon's identity, either because of their culture or because of their history and architecture. 

The western side of Lisbon offers a splendid view because it is the location of Monsanto Natural Park, one of the largest urban parks in Europe, with an area close to 10 square kilometers (almost 4 square miles).

Full of surprises and contrasts, Lisbon is a welcoming place. Moreover, the good news is that Lisbon is not a very expensive capital.  Lisbon is a great location to Study Portuguese abroad.

Our Portuguese School in Lisbon

The Portuguese Language School in Lisbon is a Private Educational Organisation established in Portugal in 1972, and officially recognized by the Portuguese Ministry of Education. All members of staff are native university graduates with special qualifications and experience in the teaching of Portuguese to foreigners. The atmosphere is pleasant and informal. We are proud of our reputation, which we have acquired by offering a friendly personal service of the highest standard.

We also organize excursions, visits to bars, discos, restaurants, shows and exhibitions as well as visits to museums and other places of interest, both in Lisbon and outside.
Students interested in sports can also combine their Portuguese lessons with one or more activities of their interest.

Our Portuguese Language Courses in Lisbon

We offer year round (2-3 hrs per day), semi intensive (2hrs per day) and intensive (4-6 hrs per day) general group courses with no more than 8 students per group.

We also offer private, individual courses and special courses for companies.

These courses take place throughout the year and begin on the first Monday of each month.

1 lesson = 50 minutes

The method is essentially Structural, Functional/ Communicative. The teaching is based around thematical units, which deal with practical situations, presented in the form of a text or dialogue in which new structures and vocabulary are progressively introduced through a functional context. The program of the courses is carefully structured and integrates the four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. A wide range of teaching material produced by our own staff is used in class, in addition to course books.

Courses take place throughout the year and begin on the first Monday of each month.

Study Portuguese in Portugal - Accommodation

Various types of accommodation according to student's needs and possibilities can be arranged. A student may either choose to stay with a carefully selected host family (from 250 Euros per month), in a residence, in a youth hostel (from 20 Euros per night) or in a reasonably priced hotel.
