School Location: The Spanish school in Merida is located in the historic city center and directly across from the Teleferico (cable car) at Plaza Las Heroínas, one of the two main plazas in Merida. This is one of the chief meeting places for the city, so the atmosphere is quite vibrant. Various events and festivals are also held here. The school is centrally located for easy access to restaurants, bars, shopping, banks, museums, cinema and theatre.
School Facilities: Recently renovated, this beautiful three story colonial building serves as accommodation and instructional facilities for the students. It is comfortable, bright and quiet, despite having the bustling plaza immediately outside. There are four classrooms, a communal area and a very large terrace for relaxing.
Teachers: All Spanish professors at the school are well experienced, native speakers with University degrees.

Description: Combining aspects of a home stay and shared student residence, the school offers this service to its students only. The Posada, in the same building as the school, is run by a Venezuelan family who only speak Spanish and live there as well. You eat your meals with them, and in this way, you get the advantages of being encouraged to use your newly acquired Spanish skills and of being exposed to aspects of Venezuelan culture. Yet, you have the bonus of having the independence of staying in a hostel. Rooms are half board double or triple with shared bath. Cable TV is available in the large common area. Airport pickup: Merida airport has recently closed, so flights are to El Vigia followed by a 40 minute taxi to Merida (USD 30).
