Location: The Spanish school in Margarita Island is located in a tropical house in Playa El Angel, a quiet residential area between Porlamar, the island’s largest city, and Pampatar, an old fishing village. You can walk to the beach in 30 minutes. Inexpensive taxis provide quick access to all parts of the islands.

Facilities: The school benefits from quiet and comfortable classrooms, free Wi-Fi internet access, a garden both at the front and back of the house and a large library with lots of learning material in various languages. The school has a real “family” feel to it and genuinely cares about their students.

Teachers: All are native Spanish speakers with university degrees and plenty of experience teaching Spanish as a second language. The school director regularly participates in national and international congresses on teaching foreign languages and shares this information with the teachers to keep them current on their skills.

Materials: Included with course fee. We use a variety of sources, some of which have been developed by the school.

Spanish Courses in Margarita Island, Venezuela

Spanish Learning + Cultural Activities

All Spanish courses include three activities a week at the gorgeous Island beaches and visits to places like Pampatar and its 16th century fortress, La Asuncion and the oldest church in South America and La Restinga Lagoon National Park. Don’t miss the free weekly salsa lessons. The school has a new van for transportation, and staff accompanies the students for these trips. For a reasonable additional fee, many other activities are available; surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, scuba diving, sailing, horseback riding, golf, yoga and more. Living with a Venezuelan family provides many opportunities to experience the local culture and is an important part of your experience at the school, should you choose this option.

Margarita Island Accommodation

Options: Home stay, studio and two bedroom apartments, hotel.

Type: Single.

Description: Home stay - half board (breakfast and dinner everyday except Sunday), single room, private bath; Studio and two bedroom apartments - no meals, a range of comfort levels available (please inquire); Hotel - many options available (please inquire).

Meals: No meals, half board.

Travel time to school: Home stay and apartments are within walking distance.

Airport pickup: 20 USD. This service is highly recommended due to the fact that streets and houses are often not marked in Venezuela.
