Arequipa is a beautiful colonial city surrounded by three spectacular volcanoes, which define its setting. Many of the city’s buildings are built from a very light-colored volcanic rock called Sillar.
The buildings dazzle in the sun, earning Arequipa the nickname “the white city”.

On the outskirts of Arequipa you'll find fascinating villages with stepped terraces dating from pre-Inca times. In the vicinity of Arequipa there are thermal springs, active volcanoes, high-altitude deserts, petroglyphs and some of the world’s deepest canyons (Colca Canyon and Cotahuasi Canyon).

The weather in Arequipa is marvelous, mild and clear year round. Rain is extremely rare. The Spanish spoken here is particularly beautiful and “correct”. Arequipa is a great place to learn Spanish.

School Location: The Spanish school in Arequipa is ideally situated in the heart of the colonial downtown area, a mere block from the “Plaza de Armas” or cathedral square. All kinds of restaurants, shops, internet cafes and services such as banks are just a short walk away.

School Facilities:  The school resides in a beautiful late 18th century colonial building that has been beautifully renovated. The six classrooms are well-equipped and have been refurbished to maintain the historic character of the building. There is an inner courtyard, and the small roof-top terrace can be used for classes and just relaxing in the sun.

Teachers: All Spanish teachers are qualified and experienced Peruvian nationals. They all speak at least one foreign language.

The school provides information and advice on the many interesting things to do in and around Arequipa - visit places like Lake Titicaca, Cotahuasi and Canon de Colca.  All these activities can be arranged for a reasonable price.
