Italian Language School in Venice

Location: The language school in Venice is located in the heart of the city, in a well-known piazza, Campo Santa Margherita, a meeting place for residents and students. There are many beautiful shops and open-air cafés here. The school is housed in a historic building with a wide terrace.

Facilities: Two free internet access points as well as wi-fi, a study room with video equipment where you can watch films from our video collection.

Teachers: All have experience teaching Italian as a second language and have attended special teacher training workshops including the ITALS Master Program (Italian as a second language) at Ca' Foscari University.

Materials: Included with course tuition.

Italian Courses in Venice

Type: Individual, Group, Combined (group/individual).

Classes per week: Individual - up to you (minimum 10); Group - 20 regular, 20 evening classes (allows for free time during the day and lower tuition); Combined - 20 + 5, 20 + 10.

Course Duration: One week minimum.

Lessons: 55 minutes.

Class size: Maximum of 12.

Levels: All.

Start Dates: Individual - up to you. Non beginners can start any Monday. Absolute beginner can start to learn Italian in Venice on the following 2010 dates:  Group 20 regular and Combined  –Jan 4, Feb 1, Mar 1 & 29, Apr 26, May 24, June 21, July 19, Aug 16, Sept 13, Oct 11, Nov 8, Dec 6;  Group 20 evening courses – May 10, June 7, July 5, Aug 2 & 30, Sept 27. 

Includes: The school organizes many free cultural activities each month including guided walks, lectures, food outings, theatre, cinema, etc. We provide an admission letter for visa application purposes.

College Credit: Offered through the following institutions - Università Ca' Foscari, Istituto Universitario di Architettura, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität-Munich, Tel Aviv University, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, Waseda University Tokyo and Duke University Durham.

Specialized: Italian and cooking, Italian and opera, CILS exam prep.

Italian Learning + Cultural Activities

Venice is a fascinating conglomeration of many districts, the most famous of which is comprised of 118 islands where the main tourist attractions are located. The school organizes many free cultural activities each month including guided walks, lectures, food outings, theatre, cinema, etc. Living with an Italian family is one of the best ways to expose yourself to local culture and opportunities to practice the language, should you choose this option.

Venice Accommodation

Options: Home stay, Shared apartment, University residence.

Type: Single, Double.

Description: Home stay – private room, bed linens, TV, access to washing machine and living areas; Shared apartment – single and double (for students traveling together) rooms; University residence – private rooms and bathroom, comfortable TV and living areas, summer only.

Meals: No meals are provided with any of the accomodation options.

Travel time to school: 10 to 40 minutes.

Airport pickup: 55€ using public transport.
