Montpellier, capital of Languedoc, is a dynamic city full of culture, and is located in one of the most genuine regions of France. With the Mediterranean beaches (15 minutes by bus) and the old Cevenne Mountains nearby, Montpellier is “the” sunny place to learn French in France.

French Language School Montpellier

Location: The language school in Montpellier is located in the center of this historic town in a 19th century building, looking onto the town’s main square, which has many cafés and a magnificent opera house. We are close to restaurants, cinemas, shops and many of the town’s attractions. We have easy access to the train station, buses and trams.

Facilities: Our secure building has a lift, 14 well-lit and spacious classrooms equipped with audiovisual equipment, a reading and study room with learning resources, French literature, magazines and newspapers. We have free internet access and wi-fi, a kitchen, and drinks available on both floors

Teachers: All are native speakers and university graduates in teaching French as a second language.

Materials: Included in course fees.

French Language Courses Montpellier

Type: Individual, Group, Group plus group conversation, Combined group/individual.

Classes per week: Individual 20, 30; Group - 20; Group plus conversation - 24; Combined - 20 + 4, 20 + 10.

Course Duration: One week minimum.

Lessons: 45 minutes.

Class size: Maximum of 10. Average of 8.

Levels: All.

Start Dates: French courses in Montpellier begin every Monday. (Absolute beginner courses start on the following dates: Jan 11, Feb 1, Mar 1, Apr 5, May 3, May 31, Jul 5, Aug 2, Sep 6, Oct 4.). National holidays: May 13th, July 14th, Nov 11th. French Courses will not take place but a free one-day excursion will be offered as a replacement.

Includes: Free internet and wi-fi; student card good for discounts around town; a program of activities and excursions every week; Certificate of attendance and achievement; opportunity to take the TEF of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a recognized standard in French fluency evaluation; welcome cocktail.

Specialized: TEF and DELF-DALF exam prep, French and cooking, French and internship, extended academic courses, individually tailored programs to fit your specific subject needs, French for seniors (50+).

French Learning + Cultural Activities

Montpellier is a university town, hosting 60, 000 students. With 300 days of sun per year, there is a lot of opportunity to enjoy the numerous cafes, street musicians, and markets in its pedestrians-only streets. Many festivals and cultural events are held year round (dance, theatre, classical and rock music festivals), and you can also visit opera theatres, museums, restaurants and bars. Nearby there are rivers, mountains, beaches and many different sports to amuse yourself with. We organize a full program of activities and excursions all year round, including a monthly guided tour of the city and a weekly French movie. Living with a French family provides the best cultural interaction and language practice available, should you choose this option.

Type: Single, Double.

Description: Home stay – single or double room with desk, wardrobe, half board; Private apartment – 1,2 or 3 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, linens and towels provided, phone, satellite TV; Residence - single or double rooms, desk, storage, Wi-Fi, TV, shared kitchen and bathrooms, once a week cleaning and linen service, no meals.

Meals: No meals, Breakfast only, Half board.

Travel time to school: Between five minutes walk and a 20 minute bus ride.

Airport pickup: Free if booking home stay accommodation and arriving before 10 PM; Up to €25 otherwise.
