Chinese Language School in Hangzhou

Location: The school is located in the Zhejiang University National Science and Technology Park on Xixi Road near the Zhejiang University main campus. The school is only a 20-30 minute bike ride away from some of the most popular scenic spots in Hangzhou including the West Lake, Lingyin Temple and North Peak. Xixi Road offers a direct connection to the Hangzhou West Bus Station and receives significant taxi traffic. Bus stops located at the Science Park’s front gate also offer convenient routes to downtown and scenic areas.

Facilities: Built along a hill ridge with ample green spaces, the complex where the school is located provides fresh air and a quiet study environment. The casual classrooms are well suited for small class sizes and many have windows with views of the local hills. There are vending machines in the lobby and a cafeteria and restaurant located in the opposite building. The school also has free internet wi-fi access.

Teachers: All are native speakers, have university degrees and are qualified and experienced in teaching Chinese as a second language. They are also certified by the government to teach.

Chinese Learning + Cultural Activities

Marco Polo, the 13th century Italian explorer, called Hangzhou "the most splendid and luxurious city in the world". It’s not a stretch to say that our city is the most beautiful in China. Hangzhou has gorgeous gardens and most notably the West Lake, which has inspired both ancient and contemporary poems. Being one of the ancient capitols of China, there is no shortage of historical sites and attractions to visit. Hangzhou has a relaxed atmosphere and a very low crime rate. The parks and museums are free, a rarity in China these days. Our Chinese school organizes several after-class activities during the week and a tour over the weekend, such as Tai Chi classes, a visit to a tea house, a boat ride on West Lake, movie nights, a visit to a Buddhist temple, a visit to the silk museum, an excursion to Thousand-Isle Lake, etc. We also organize language exchanges, where you can share conversation with a local who wants to learn English.

Description: Home stay – private room with closet, desk and chairs, shared or private bath, no meals, breakfast only or half board, once a week laundry service, internet and phone access; Apartment – single bedroom, fully furnished, shared equipped kitchen, shared bathroom and living room, air conditioning, no meals, washing machine, TV, internet, bedding provided.
