Learn German in Germany - German Schools in Berlin
Learn German in Berlin, Germany
Once a squalid neighborhood in the 1900s, Prenzlauer Berg after WW II became a haven for artists who opposed the East German communists. Then, after reunification, Prenzlauer Berg boomed, quickly becoming the "in" district of Berlin. Having escaped from extensive damage during World War II, the Prenzlauer Berg of today is now the most renovated area of Berlin. Since the 1960s many students, artists, and intellectuals settled here and gave the neighborhood its image. Lots of international attention was directed at Prenzlauer Berg in the autumn of 1989 due to the civil movement and the fall of the wall.

Some are married, others not, they can be students, taxi drivers or architects, of all ages and all social strata. Commuting time home stay: between 5 and maximum 50 minutes.
You stay in a Berlin household. Usually there is only one student, but some hosts offer 2 or 3 rooms, so that there may be another student (of a different nationality) in the same household.
Home stay
- Single room with bed, table and closet
- Bed sheets and towels
- Self catering
- Use of kitchen facilities, you buy your own groceries
Home stay & breakfast
- Single room with bed, table and closet

- Breakfast
- Use of kitchen facilities, you buy your own groceries
Home stay & half board
- Single room with bed, table and closet
- Bed sheets and towels
- Half board: breakfast and dinner
- Transfer from airport or station, by car or public transport
Please note: The option "half board" tends to be further away from the school - in the outer districts where families live. Many hosts in the center districts work thus prefer to offer only self catering or breakfast.
If you want half board but no commuting because of dinner we suggest this: book home stay & breakfast and then - instead of going "home" for dinner - have dinner at the school cafeteria (same price, regardless whether you have dinner at home or at school. Please note that you have to decide upfront which dinner option you book - i.e. you can't decide on a daily basis)
If you booked a home stay you will receive your accommodation address 2 weeks prior to your arrival in Berlin. Please note that we need full payment before we can send out the address. As soon as you know the exact day and time of your arrival, please notify both us and your host in Berlin.
Please note: All prices are quoted in Euros. For the equivalent in your currency, please visit www.xe.com/ucc.
Please note: on all types of accommodation the price for one week includes accommodation from Sunday to Saturday. To avoid expenses for extra nights, please schedule your arrival on Sundays and your departure on Saturdays.
