Our French School in the Loire Valley
Our French school in the Loire Valley is located in the heart of the lively old town of Tours. A multitude of restaurants and terrace cafés can be found just two steps away from the school in the shade of the quaint medieval buildings. The French school occupies a magnificently renovated 18th century building. It even has a 15th century cellar. From your classroom window you can admire Charlemagne tower, one of the town's oldest monuments. You will study in spacious, comfortable classrooms, and during the summer months you can relax on our rooftop terrace. A warm, multicultural atmosphere will encourage your participation in all aspects of the school's life.
We are here to meet your requirements; whether it is to learn French for exam purposes (A' levels, Abitur, Matura, INSEAD, etc.), to obtain a job position, to communicate more easily with your French speaking business associates, with an aim to residing in France or simply for pleasure, our French school in the Loire Valley puts the students specifications first every time.
Our French courses are taught by qualified teachers, who specialize in teaching French as a foreign language. Their competence and enthusiasm will make learning a pleasure. To accelerate your learning there are never more than 7 students per class ensuring that each student benefits from a caring environment and individual attention. All our teachers have many years experience teaching French courses in France.
We offer French courses to suit everyone, form the beginner who wishes to learn quickly to communicate in French, to the professor who seeks to expand their knowledge and refine their teaching skills in French.
We also offer flexible dates; you can stay for one or two weeks, or even several months.
Our French Courses in the Loire Valley, France
Students attend classes for 26 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. until 12.15 p.m., as well as Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, from 1.45 p.m. until 4.30 p.m. NB: this changes in July and August to take advantage of the warm weather. Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. plus one afternoon: 2 p.m. to 4.45 p.m. Students enjoy a coffee break together in the morning.
You are put in a class at the beginning of the session following the results of an oral and written test. At the beginning of each subsequent week you will receive a detailed summary of the subjects to be covered during the course of the week.
Our French school in the Loire Valley uses the European Union's Common European Reference Framework for Languages which provides both a clear goal-oriented framework for teachers and standard assessment levels for all European languages.
Progress is facilitated by the small number of students in each class but it also depends on your willingness to learn. Our program is flexible enough for everyone to be able to work at their own pace, but along with attendance in class, one or two hours of independent study per day are encouraged. It is recommended that students stay with a host-family to ensure a complete and continuous immersion in the French language and lifestyle.
Combined courses include individual lessons to complement your group classes. Together, we can establish a program adapted to your personal needs. However, you may choose among the courses below.

DELF
The DELF (diplôme d'études en langue française) is a national diploma delivered by the French Ministry of Education. You may take the DELF in an examination centre in the Tours area or in your home country. We prepare students for the DELF examinations except during July and August.
We offer a French course with specific start dates. However, if the dates of our sessions are not convenient for you or if you don't have sufficient time, new courses begin every Monday, except from July 1st until August 25 and from December 16 until December 31st.
Students, with no or very little knowledge of French (less than an A1 level) must start these alternative sessions on the following dates: January 7, April 1st, August 26, September 23.

Host family
Live with a local family and share their way of life and you can really understand what goes on. Even if your level of French is limited, chatting at the family dinner table remains one of the best ways of improving your comprehension and vocabulary. You also discover the French mentality and of course the famous French cuisine.
We know that a host-family plays a very important role in the outcome of your stay. We carefully select families to ensure you a warm welcome and a high quality home stay. We regularly visit our host-families, and it is their warm and caring nature that helps to contribute to the reputation of our school. A home stay begins on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday.
Your host-family will meet you at Tours station to welcome to the town at no extra charge. Following your enrolment at the school, we will send you a questionnaire concerning your interests and preferences so that we may select a family that will accommodate your needs. It is our goal to make your stay both productive and enjoyable. You will receive the address and telephone number of your host-family prior to your arrival in Tours.
Hotel
If you wish to stay in a hotel, please indicate which category you desire. We will make the reservations and send you the address and telephone number of your hotel.
Apartment or studio
We can make a reservation for a fully equipped and comfortable studio or one-bedroom apartment (telephone, television, etc.). Weekly maid and linen service is included. Laundry facilities are also available. All studios and apartments are located in the centre of Tours within walking distance of the school.
Bed and breakfast in a Château
For an exceptional stay, we can reserve a room in a small private château. You will be treated as a house-guest, in the intimacy and elegance of an exquisite residence. NB: you will need your own transport if you opt for this type of accommodation.
