Paris is at its best in springtime, even if it is sometimes a little wet. In winter Paris has all sorts of cultural events going on, while in summer the weather is warm and lazy - sometimes sizzling. In August, when Parisians flee for the beaches to the west and south, many restaurateurs lock up and leave town too, but this is changing rapidly and you'll find considerably more places open in summer than even a decade ago.

Our French School in Paris, France

Our French school in Paris occupies a charming 19th Century mansion house in the centre of Paris, 15 minutes on foot from the Opera and less than 10 minutes from Montmartre. Our French school in Paris is situated at the heart of the Villa Ballu, and has the advantage of calm and leafy surroundings which are exceptional in the city.

Students have at their disposal:

• Light, calm and spacious classrooms on two floors with lift,
• A cafeteria area with an adjoining terrace,
• A study room where students can work between lessons using the educational materials available (a selection of books, cassettes, CD-ROM),
• Free internet access and WI FI connections accessible in all classrooms.

Our French school in Paris has specialized in teaching French as a foreign language to adults in small groups of 6 people for 20 years. We are a small school and we know each of our students individually: a family atmosphere, coupled of course with highly professional teaching methods. Our teachers have many years experience teaching French Courses in France.

Our French Courses in Paris, France

Our French Courses in Paris, France start each Monday.

Students are asked to arrive at 8.30 am on the first day for a placement test (oral and written).

After the test a complimentary breakfast is served in the cafeteria.

Lessons start at 10 am on Mondays and at 9 am every other day.

Please note: French courses for beginners start on the first Monday of each month, and run for a minimum of two weeks.

We offer French courses in mini-group for a maximum of 6 people and lessons are 60 minutes long. This makes for a great learning environment.

You will receive homework for the evenings, demanding a serious investment of time. But the work will certainly pay off. Two teachers work alternately with each mini-group. This allows students to remain independent in their learning and to benefit from different personalities and teaching styles.

To allow maximum development in comprehension and expression, the teachers have at their disposal a wide choice of teaching materials: authentic documents, cassettes, videos, CD-ROM.

They use teaching methods fully adapted to their students particular profile (nationality, profession, specific aptitudes, age). Please note, the minimum age is 17.

Standard Mini Group (20 hrs)

Every day from 9 am to 12 am, except Mondays, from 10 am to 1 pm.

Standard Mini Group (40 hrs)

Every day from 9 am to 12 am, except Mondays, from 10 am to 1 pm and 15 hours in the afternoon. Every day from 1.15 pm to 4.15 pm, except Mondays, from 2 pm to 5

Combined (25 + 5)

The conviviality of a mini-group allied with tailored individual tuition.

Combined (25 + 10)

An intensive programme for optimum results.

If it is not possible to create a group with at least 3 students of the same level in the afternoon, we will convert the of combined courses into:

- 6 hours of individual tuition (1 person) or

- 10 hours of semi-private lessons (2 people).

Individual lessons

60 minutes long, and are entirely flexible:

Structured to the student's individual interests, level and timetable. The student can supplement mini-group courses with individual tuition and organize his week as he wishes

Host family

You can choose to stay with a host family to really discover life in France. This form of accommodation goes hand in hand with rapid progress in your French course. At our French school in Paris, France we have a privileged relationship with our host families: Some began welcoming our students in 1984 when the school was created, and their children continue to this day. We are in daily personal contact with them, with no middleman or accommodation agency.

This is not simply a bed and breakfast. The contribution we ask for to stay in a host family gives you certain rights, but you will really be welcomed into their homes, and that means a certain duty on your part. This is an integral part of your stay in Paris.

Students receive a warm welcome from Parisian families carefully chosen by us, and eager to impart our language and way of life.

Students have an individual room within apartments located in residential areas of Paris and adjacent suburbs.

The stay in a host family runs from the Sunday afternoon before the start of the course to the Saturday after the end. All additional days will be invoiced accordingly. The student must contact the school or the family directly to indicate their arrival time in order to be met.

This family-run hotel is very friendly and warm and is only around 15 minutes from the school on foot in the heart of the delightful Montmartre district of Paris. It is exceptionally good for a 2 star hotel.
