Summer Programs in Paris

French Summer Courses for Adults

The school offers five summer programs in Paris and all options can be taken for one week or more.

This summer program for Adults is in groups no larger than 14 students, and classes are held Monday through Friday during July and August. All course materials are included.

Accommodation is not included, but many options are available: Please visit the school link at the end of the Paris section for details.

Workshop topics include:

• grammar and writing and reading proficiency.
• speaking and listening proficiency.
• theater improvisations and texts.
• introduction to French certification exams (TCF, TEF, DELF & DALF).
• business French.
• specialized tutoring for the beginner.
• Parisian civilization and culture.

The summer school in Paris also offers a full program of fun and educational activities to take advantage of the amazing array of culture and history Paris offers.

Some examples of these activities include:

• Trips to museums (the Louvre, Orsay and the Grand Palais),
• Boat trips on the Seine and canals
• Walking tours
• Thematic visits (e.g. “artist’s houses”) followed by a conference,
• Readings from books by famous French authors
• Cinema nights followed by discussion in a café
• Weekly talks on French culture and history,
• Visits to theme parks such as Disneyland
• Excursions to places outside Paris like Versailles, Normandy, Provins and Fontainebleau. This service is not included in the course fee, but rates are quite reasonable.

Summer Program in Paris for Young Persons and Families: ages 6+ For this program, adults and children are in separate classes. Adults can take any of the courses described above. If parents choose the 15 hour option, they will be on the same schedule as their children.

Children can take a 15 hour per week course, as described above, but geared, of course to their age group and language level.

Course materials are included, but accommodation is not. Various accommodation options for families are available. The activity program described above is also available.

Any.

July 7th, 15th, 21st & 28th; August 4th.

Prices (Euros):
310 per week.

French Teen Summer Camp: ages 13-17

This all-inclusive teen summer program provides a fun experience for teenagers, as they discover many of the wonders that Paris provides, while receiving quality French language instruction.

The course can be taken for 2, 4 and 6 weeks. 15 hours per week of instruction is provided in the mornings in groups of no more than 15 students.

Many activities and excursions are included. Activities include:

• Singing
• Games
  Tennis
• Acting
• Football (soccer),
• Table tennis
• Mini-golf
• Volleyball

Each week the students will go on one full-day and three half-day excursions to places like the Louvre, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, Montmarte and an amusement park (Disneyland or Asterix).

The school makes a priority of providing excellent French language instruction and healthy food in a safe, comfortable and clean environment.

Teachers and activity leaders live on campus with the students and are available 24 hours a day.

Students are closely supervised and not allowed off campus without adult supervision. The campus is closed from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Accommodation and three meals plus an afternoon snack are included in the price. Rooms have four beds, and shared showers and toilets are on each floor.

Bed linen is changed weekly, and towels are provided.

Meals are served in the campus restaurant. Picnics replace lunch or dinner on some excursions.

Summer Campus Description

Located in the south of Paris, the school has 30 classrooms with audio/visual equipment, a student lounge with big terraces, a TV area, a self-service restaurant and cafeteria and a fitness center. The school is a 5 minute walk from a swimming pool, a sports center and a cinema.  It is also near a subway station (“Corentin Celton" - line no. 12). The location makes it easy to get to places like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame and Montmartre.

This school is happy to create a French language course to suit your group’s particular needs. Whether you want a private group course in general French or a course focused on a given topic or activity which includes language instruction, they will be happy to structure a program especially for you.

The course includes 20 morning lessons plus 3 afternoon activities per week. Courses can be organized at any time of the year for as short as one week, though two weeks at least is recommended.

All language levels can be provided for, and students must be at least 13 years of age. Group size must be at least 15 (plus an accompanying teacher or guardian for each group of 15 in the case of children).

Half-board home stay accommodation in single or double rooms is included, and your family picks you up at the airport. Of course, some preparation time is often required, so please inquire in advance.

Starts at 315 per person /per week
(15 students + 1 supervisor: 20 general French lessons + 3 half-day outings)

Summer Program in the French Alps (Annecy)Top

French Summer Courses

These open group French summer courses are offered from 1 to 4 weeks. You can choose between a 15 hour per week course of language instruction and a 20 hour per week course which includes 15 hours per week of language instruction plus 5 hours per week of fun and educational activities in and around Annecy.

Group size is limited to 12 students, so you are assured of getting the attention you need to progress quickly. Groups are arranged according to language level, so you will be receiving instruction geared to your ability.

Activities for the 20 hour per week course are accompanied by a teacher, who encourages all students to participate using their newly acquired language skills.

Some of the trips and excursions include a guided tour of Annecy, a wine and cheese presentation and tasting, a hike in the mountains, café discussions on topics such as traveling and the French press, film screening with discussion afterwards, a bicycle tour of Lake Annecy, a cooking class, a trip to a castle or a museum and more!

Absolute Beginners must start July 5th, August 2nd or September 6th. All other levels can start any Monday between July 5th and September 20th.

• Arrive on Sunday and leave on Saturday.

French Summer Course in MontpellierTop

Summer Course

This 2 to 8 week French summer course includes 24 lessons per week of French language instruction in the mornings, Monday through Friday, plus an additional conversation class of 90 minutes twice a week in the afternoons. The course is open to all language levels.

A full program of fun and educational activities, one full day excursion per week and a guided tour of Montpellier is included in the course price. Some of these events may include wine and cheese tasting, trips to the beach, theatre, traditional dancing, French song and excursions to places like Avignon, Marseilles, Nimes, and Aigues-Mortes. All these activities are led by the school’s own professional guide.

Accommodation is also included, and students may choose from home stay or shared apartment housing on the city’s university campus. Meals are not included, but there is a restaurant on the campus and several inexpensive restaurants and cafes are nearby. A half-board option is also available for an additional fee.

Any Monday between July 5th and August 23rd. (Absolute beginners must start on either July 5th or August 2nd.)

Tailor Made Courses

Group courses

This school is happy to create a French language course to suit your group’s particular needs. Whether you want a private group course in general French or a course focused on a particular topic which includes language instruction such as business

French, exam preparation, French literature, French language and civilization or anything else you, they will be happy to structure a program especially for you.

Courses can include classes in the mornings or afternoons and a full program of fun and educational activities.

A few of the many possible activities include film screenings, a guided tour of Montpellier, cultural workshops, karaoke, social evenings out, wine and cheese tasting, barbeques, biking, canoeing and traditional French sports.

You can also take trips to places like Avignon, the port of Sete, the medieval fortress at Carcassonne, Marseille and many others.

All transportation including airport transfers and trips and activities will be included in the price. Several accommodation options are available including home stay, student residence, hotels and apartments.

Family courses

As with the “Tailor Made Group Courses” above, a program can be designed especially for your family. A teacher will be assigned to your family.
