English Courses in Boston

English Courses in Boston, USA

Boston was first incorporated as a town as far back as 1630 and then as a city in 1822, making it one of America's oldest cities. What began as a small agricultural community eventually evolved into a center for social and political change. Boston has since become the economic and cultural hub of New England, with a wealth of historical and cultural attractions which attract thousands of visitors every year. As the region's hub, Boston is home to nearly 590,000 residents, many of the country's leading centres of higher education, some of the world's finest medical facilities, as well as numerous cultural highlights, such as museums and art galleries.

No trip to Boston would be complete without crossing the river to visit one of the country's oldest and most prestigious universities. Harvard combined with the neighboring and equally prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, houses over 30,000 students from all over the world. The iconic focal point of the area is Harvard Square which is actually a triangle of brick pavement sitting above the Harvard subway station. In and around the square area there are countless cafés, bookshops, banks and restaurants, providing a backdrop to the street performers, politically and religiously motivated campaigners and other ordinary Bostonians going about their daily business.
