The English school campus is situated in a converted villa in a quiet street, only 2 minutes away from the sea in St. Paul's Bay.

Facilities include 11 bright and fully air-conditioned/heated classrooms, Internet Café with internet and email access, student lounge and reading area, cafeteria offering hot and cold snacks and drinks, a large sun terrace with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Standard English Courses (20 or 30 hrs)

Conversation: improve conversational ability through the study of functional language skills and idiomatic English.

Reading, Writing and Vocabulary: a comprehensive study of new vocabulary with instruction in reading and writing.

Speaking and Listening: Improve listening, speaking and pronunciation skills through effective communicative exercises.

Our most popular General English Language programme is available for students from Elementary to Advanced. Beginner students are offered private one-to-one tuition.

Individual Courses

Individual language training is the quickest and most intensive way to learn a language or to improve your language skills. This course is ideal for students who have limited time available and can also be combined with a General English Course.

Private Group (Two students)

This course is possible if two students of the same level of English require semi-private tuition. It is similar to the One-to-One course and can also be combined with a General English Course.

English for Special Purposes (ESP)

ESP courses are designed by your private teacher to suit your specific requirements. This course is also ideal as a support course to focus on problem areas or specific vocabulary needed. Some of the areas we cover are:-

Cambridge / IELTS / TOEFL Examinations

Cambridge ESOL exams are the world's leading range of certificates for learners of English. Each year they are taken by around 1.5 million people in 135 countries.

A Cambridge examination will enable you to:-

• Your progress will be closely monitored and you will be tested and monitored throughout your course by your teacher and the Director of Studies.

IELTS Examination

IELTS is accepted by most Australian, British, Canadian and New Zealand academic institutions. American academic institutions are increasingly accepting IELTS for admissions purposes.

IELTS courses are held monthly.

The course comprises of 20 General English Lessons + 5 Private Lessons of IELTS preparation classes. Further IELTS private lessons may be booked as required. All candidates take the same listening and speaking modules. There is an option of both academic or general training reading and writing modules.

TOEFL Test

Our English school in Malta prepares students for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL^®). The Test measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to use and understand English.

The course comprises of 20 General English Lessons + 5 Private Lessons of TOEFL preparation classes. Further TOEFL private lessons may be booked as required.

The test fee is in the region of USD 145. All bookings for the test must be done in advance on the website www.ets.org before the registration deadline. Global Village is not able to accept TOEFL iBT test bookings directly. Register early as test centers fill up quickly!!

The Crown Hotel is located in the heart of St. Paul's Bay, only 5 minutes walking distance from the school and promenade. All bedrooms are stylish and equipped with air-conditioning and central heating, direct-dial telephone, mini-bar, satellite TV and hair dryer.

Facilities include: Large outdoor pool and sun terrace on the roof with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea, Indoor pool, Games room and Sauna. Next door there is a popular and friendly O'Connor's Irish Pub where students and locals meet for a chat and a drink.

Topaz Hotel

The Topaz Hotel is located in the heart of Bugibba, only 10 minutes walking distance from the school and promenade. All rooms at the Topaz Hotel are fully air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms, direct telephone systems, Euro satellite TV, radio, hairdryer and a safe, the latter being at a local charge.

Facilities include: Large pool & sun terrace, Indoor pool, Games room, Sauna, Hairdressing salon, and various restaurants and pubs.

Dolmen Hotel Gold

A luxury 4 star gold hotel situated by the sea and promenades over 1km long, ideal for a relaxing stroll. The Dolmen boasts a rocky beach where one can swim. Close to the main bus terminus and Bugibba's restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes.

The hotel's general facilities include a Casino, Restaurants, Bars, 24 hr Cafe, newspaper/souvenir shop, Night Club, car park, swimming pools, tennis courts and a squash court. Laundry service provided.

Howard Johnson Mediterranea

The Howard Johnson Mediterranea Hotel is small and is only 5 minutes walk from the school.

Facilities include restaurant, bar, room service, Fitness centre, Jacuzzi & outdoor pool, laundry service, child minding, 24 hour reception. Rooms have direct dial telephone, satellite TV, hairdryer. Hotel is very close to public transport and boat cruises around Malta, Gozo and Comino.

Apartments

Topaz (recommended)

The Topaz Aparthotel is located only 10 minutes walking distance from the school and promenade and offers self-catering Studio apartments for 1 or 2 persons in twin beds. For 3 adults sharing or 2 adults and one or two children sharing, larger studios with an extra convertible sofa- bed are also available.

All studios have a private bathroom, WC, kitchenette (2 electric rings), air conditioning, direct dial telephone, radio, TV, a hair dryer and a safe (at a nominal charge)

Most studios have balconies. House cleaner service once weekly.

Howard Johnson Mediterranea

Howard Johnson Mediterranea apartments are located about 10 minutes walk away from the school. Facilities include a restaurant and coffee shop overlooking the bay, a small fitness centre and sauna, laundry facilities, roof top swimming pool and sun terrace as well as a large Jacuzzi where one may enjoy a drink from the roof top bar and savor the beautiful view of the sea.

Each studio, one bedroom and two-bedroom apartment is fitted with rustic furniture, a private bathroom, direct dial telephone, satellite television, and radio, air-conditioning and ceiling fans. The studios also provide a dining area and kitchenette, whilst one/two bedroom apartments include a private bathroom, a separate shower room, a living area with armchairs and double sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area.

Portobello

Portobello apartments overlook the bay, only 5 minutes walking distance from the school. Ideal for families, each apartment has 2 bedrooms, a shared bathroom, a fully - equipped kitchen and washing machine.

All rooms are tastefully decorated. Bedrooms have air-conditioning. Fans are available in the sitting/dining area which has a balcony with beautiful views of St. Paul's Bay and islands.
