Brighton is one of the most exciting cities in the UK if not Europe ! Close to the capital (on the south coast of England, approximately 80km south of London ), it has excellent links to the heart of London by train and coach (approximately 50 minutes by train), but is evidently more relaxed. Brighton is often referred to as London-by-Sea because of the lively vibrant atmosphere. Because of its close proximity to London, Brighton offers a great place to attend English courses in England.

The main sights in Brighton are the Royal Pavilion, the Brighton Pier and the Lanes conservation area. To take in the seaside atmosphere properly, it is also recommended to take a stroll along the seafront that stretches from Hove in the west to Brighton Marina in the east. The marina is one of the biggest in Europe, providing berthing for around 1,200 yachts. A visit to the Cultural Quarter which will be completed in 2006 is also a must. Close by is the North Lane area with its myriads of shops and busy, bohemian atmosphere. Brighton Racecourse is also worth visiting, as it has a fantastic location on a hill high above the city.

Our teachers are native English speakers, experienced and TEFL graduates. Unlike many English teachers, they have themselves studied second languages and can therefore empathise with the students' difficulties in learning another language. We believe that a teacher should not only tutor but counsel and encourage the students to achieve their maximum potential. All of our teachers have many years experience teaching English courses in England. Most have also worked at some of the best English schools in England.

We have a core group of teachers available as the need arises. We stipulate that all our teachers will be TEFL qualified and/or graduate native English speakers. At present we have access to teachers who speak either Spanish or Italian as second languages.

Although we believe strongly in communicating in English to our students, we are also aware that being able to speak to the students in their own language could be of benefit, especially to those who have little or no experience of the English language and need instruction regarding housing/transportation or emergency issues.

Techniques include: 1-1 tuition, Pair work, Group discussions, Role play, Games, Audio/Visual aids, all aimed at practising and improving the students' receptive/productive skills.

All course work material will be provided to the student by the school. In addition we are able to offer discounted books.

We realize that excursions and cultural awareness are part of the learning experience. With that in mind, we are happy to offer excursions in and around the Brighton area and of course to London.

We are very well linked to London and encourage our students to come with us on an excursion to the capital. We can give guided tours to the places of most general interest such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster etc. If you have shopping in mind then a must visit will be to Oxford Street and Covent Garden.

Home stay English: For those who wish to accelerate their learning experience we offer the facility whereby the student can study in their teacher's home. Lessons can be tailored the students' needs for general, Cambridge or indeed business English.

The student can stay in excellent host family accommodation to compliment their studies and practice their English language skills. Hotel accommodation can be arranged if preferred.

Certificate: On completion of your study, you will be awarded a certificate stating the type and level of English studied along with the hours attended.

For those who wish to study for Cambridge Examinations we are able to assess the student's respective Cambridge levels and offer preparation courses and mock exams papers for the following:

Host Families
As an optional extra to the course we are able to offer the students accommodation with host families in the local area. This provides an excellent environment for the student to practice and develop their English in everyday situations. We are able to provide accommodation with a host family, with breakfast & evening meal provided.

These are available from £30 per night and upwards depending on the type and grade of accommodation you require and indeed the season of your stay. We will be happy to assist you in booking such accommodation on receipt of your requirements.
