The area has a suburban and commercial mix just ten minutes by train from the city centre, while a ten minute bus ride will take you to the famous Bondi Beach and the Westfield Shopping Centre which houses more than 300 specialty shops, 9 cinemas, a gym, 2 supermarkets and countless other attractions.

Our English School in Sydney, Australia is housed in a modern and comfortable building, with superb facilities for both study and relaxation between classes. Our school consists of 28 modern and well equipped classrooms which are designed to provide a pleasant yet effective working environment, while other facilities include a student café, 4 computer rooms, a theatre, a fully equipped kitchen and 2 student common rooms.

One of our English schoo'ls best features is our Independent Learning Centre which provides an excellent environment for study both during and after class. The learning centre offers students 2 computer laboratories with broadband Internet access (some computers are equipped with webcams which students can use to talk with friends and family), video and DVD equipment and a library complete with librarian and teachers on duty to give help and advice. Also popular with our students are the two common rooms which provide a focal point for student activity, with notice boards displaying information on accommodation, work and social activities. Our common rooms also offer drink and snack machines, table tennis and free access computers during break times.

Our English school in Sydney offers quality English courses in modern, convenient facilities, with an experienced and dedicated team of teaching professionals who are committed to helping students develop their skills and reach their personal goals.

On arrival at our English language school all students sit a placement exam on their first day that is designed to test listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. We will then use this test to help us place each student in the correct class for their English level. At the end of every term of 4 weeks we give each student another test to see how they have progressed. Our class teachers will also give a speaking mark based on class performances. This test and the recommendation of our teachers are then used to place students in the correct class for the following term.

Standard Group Course

Our Standard Group English course teaches students everyday English with a focus on listening and speaking. On this course we cover all the skills necessary for improving your English language, with all levels available, from Beginner to Advanced. Our General English Course consists of 23 hours of classroom lessons, plus 3 hours of supervised self study per week, with a course duration of between 2 and 52 weeks.

Our supervised self study sessions run between 3:15 pm and 4:30 pm from Monday to Thursday. During self study, students have free access to the Independent Learning Centre where you can use computers, listening facilities, library books and DVDs to help with study and homework. There is also a teacher available at all times to help students who have any questions or problems.

Every Wednesday, students taking an intermediate or above Standard Group English course take a full day elective course which is designed to gives you a change from normal everyday lessons, as well as allowing you to direct your studies toward your own specific interests or goals. Students choose their elective course at the beginning of each term, with many choices available, such as improving listening or speaking, exam preparation, business language and Sydney exploration.

On completion of your studies, all students receive a course certificate showing the length and level of study, attendance rate, class performance and a skill assessment.

English for Academic Purposes

The English for Academic Purposes course is designed for students interested in studying at university or college. Learn English skills that you can use in your studies in Australia or another English speaking country.

Cambridge Examination Courses

The Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE, CPE) are essential in many countries and our Cambridge Test Preparation can help you achieve the best results. Studying for the Cambridge exams can help ensure your future success in business or at university. The courses are intensive and challenging and taught by highly professional and experienced teachers.

Course length : 10 weeks (January) or 12 weeks (March & September)

23 hours of classroom lessons + 3 hours supervised Cambridge exam-oriented self-study after class per week. All students in the Cambridge Test Preparation course must also sit for at least one Cambridge exam at the end of the course.

Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) - Advanced

This course is for students who are able to use English fluently. Preparation for this very practical exam features: many realistic writing tasks such as business letters, leaflets and brochures; vocabulary building through authentic reading; and emphasis on speaking and listening. Students also need a good grasp of grammar, which is tested both in real-world tasks and the English in Use paper. It is recommended for people who work at a managerial or professional level.

Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) - Approaching native speaker level

This course is for students who would like to enter university or another place of higher learning. It is an academic examination for people who have a wide vocabulary, enjoy literature and a range of other reading material, and can talk fluently on any topic.

Students enrolling on our English courses in Sydney, Australia can choose from a wide variety of accommodation, with home stay with a local family, hotels, serviced apartments and lodges.

Home Stay

Our most popular accommodation option is our home stay with a local family program. Our home stay program places students with a typical Australian family in the Eastern Suburbs, within 30 minutes bus ride of the school. Home stay families are chosen for their high quality accommodation, friendliness, and interest in people from other cultures. We currently offer two types of home stay: half board which includes breakfast and dinner, and room only which includes use of the family's kitchen facilities. Both types of home stay include a private room with bed and linen, desk or table, chair, lamp and house key.

Students interested in our home stay may make special requests which will help us to place you with the most suitable family for your personal needs, e.g. a family with young children or a family with no pets etc. Our school will do its best to find the type of home stay you have requested but you may find that it is not always possible. We currently have a wide range of families available, including parents with children or teenagers, married couples without children, single mothers, elderly couples and single women.

Some of our families take more than one student at a time, so you may find yourself living in the same home as another student, although we do not place two students of the same nationality in the same home stay unless requested. In Sydney we believe our home stay accommodation gives you a wonderful opportunity to learn about the Australian culture and way of life, as well providing daily opportunities to practice the language you have learnt in the classroom.

There are several good options close to the school, with the Bondi Beachouse being the closest at only 5 minutes walking from the school. Another good choice is the family run Sinclair's which offers budget accommodation just 10 minutes from the school.
