Home Stay

Our Airlie Beach English School takes great care in selecting its home stay families. All our host families are interviewed in their homes and briefed about our program before acceptance as a home stay family. Students and host families are then matched according to both their needs.

Our Home Stay package includes accommodation with a typical local family, with single, double or shared rooms all available. The package also includes all meals, with packed lunches provided on school days.

Our English school can also offer its students the chance to stay with a local family on one of the surrounding farms, with a choice of vineyards, fruit farms, dairy farms or mixed farms. However, this option often involves a journey to school of up to one hour meaning many students choose this as a weekend only option.

It is important for the school to have as much information about students as possible in order to help placement with an appropriate family, with information on dietary needs, family preferences and general interests particularly useful.

Hostels and Backpackers
