Teen English Program

This summer program in England can be booked for ages 12 through 19. Younger and older students will be assigned to separate classes. Students will improve their general English language skills (and pick up some teen slang as well).

Students will be supervised at their accommodation and at school, but will not be supervised at certain times, such as on their way to and from school. The school recommends that students bring a dual language dictionary of English and their mother tongue.

The course includes:

• 20 lessons of group tuition per week.
• Maximum class size of 12.
• All class materials.
• Double or single home stay accommodation with full board.
• Fun afternoon activities and weekend excursions such as:
• Picnics at the beach.
• Trips to museums.
• Movie and quiz nights at the school.
• Sports activities.
• Trips to Norwich, London and Cambridge.
• Certificate at course completion.
• Airport transfer for Sunday arrivals between 10:00 and 15:00.

Teen FCE, CAE, IELTS and TOEFL English Exam Preparation Course

This intensive course is for teens aged 17 to 19 preparing for an English Exam. The TOEFL and IELTS section is for a minimum of 4 weeks, while the FCE and CAE is for a minimum of 12 weeks.

The course combines intensive study and exam preparation with lots of exciting activities geared for teenagers. Students are well-supervised and cared for at school and their accommodations.

Parents, please note that they will be unsupervised at times, such as on their way to school.

Students are encouraged to bring with them a dual language dictionary of English and their native language.

The course includes:

• 30 lessons of group tuition per week.
• Class size of 12 maximum.
• All class materials.
• Double or single home stay accommodation with full board.
• Fun afternoon activities and weekend excursions (see examples in the Teen English Program above).
• Airport transfer for Sunday arrivals between 10:00 and 15:00.

This school is happy to create an English language course to suit your group’s particular needs. Whether you want a private group course in general or a course focused on a given topic or activity which includes language instruction, they will be happy to structure a program especially for you.

This school supplements regular class instruction with project work, where a student researches their topic and makes a presentation at the end of the course.

The student may use a variety of methods including interviews, producing video, making an oral presentation and writing a report to present their project.

The school will assist the student in finding an appropriate audience for the student’s presentation, if so desired. A CD or DVD including all material produced is given to the student.

Summer Courses in ScarboroughTop

Holiday Courses

These three courses, available during the Easter and summer holidays, are for adults with or without children and children and teens ages 7 to 17.

The focus is on learning English while enjoying fun activities and excursions in and around Scarborough. All the classes take place in level specific groups of no more than 15 students.

A course can be booked for as short as two weeks. Full board accommodation can be booked. A certificate of attendance is awarded at the end of all courses.

All students will enjoy a full social program, including afternoon and/or evening activities and a full-day excursion each week. The activities may include different sports, trips to a castle, museums, and the historic city of York, treasure hunts, movies, dances, barbeques and much more.

These are all included in the course price, but the school also offers other weekend excursions to places like Flamingo Land, which is a theme park and zoo, Edinburgh and London for an extra fee.
 
Adult Course

This course includes 17 hours of group classes per week, plus 3 hours per week of teacher guided self-study. Four times a week the classes are held in the mornings, and three times a week they are in the afternoons.

No classes are held Friday afternoons, giving you free time for sightseeing, shopping or whatever else you may wish to do. Students will also enjoy a mid-week full-day excursion and three evening activities each week.

A2 or Elementary.

220 per week.
Full board accommodation - 120 to 195 per week.

Teen Course: ages 13-17

This course includes 16 hours of weekly class time, with 3 afternoon and 3 evening activities each week. Friday afternoons are free for the students to do what they wish, and there is a mid-week full-day excursion every week, as well.

Required language level:
A2 or elementary (A1 or beginners may take private tuition subject to availability).

225 per week.
Full board accommodation - 120 to 195 per week.

Junior Course: ages 7-12

This course includes 16 hours of weekly class time, with 3 afternoon and 2 evening activities each week. All activities in and out of class are specifically designed for this age group.

Friday afternoons are free, and there is a mid-week full-day excursion every week. Children are accompanied by teachers for afternoon activities, leaving parents free for their classes. Parents accompany their children for evening activities and full-day excursions.

Required language level:
A2 or elementary (A1 or beginner may take private tuition subject to availability).

225 per week.
Full board accommodation - 120 per week.

Private Group Course

This course follows the format of the “Teen Vacation Course” described above. It can be provided for students of any age at any time subject to availability for groups of a minimum 10 students, and of course, class material and activities are age appropriate.

Coach transfers from the airport can be provided for an additional fee. One group leader per each group of 10 students is given free full board home stay accommodation and can attend classes subject to availability.

Intensive program: ages 15-18

This course includes 15 hours of general language instruction and 6 hours of grammar and active communication instruction per week for a minimum of two weeks. One full-day excursion and 2 half-day activities, along with a disco and a barbeque are provided weekly. All study materials are included in the course price.
